REHABILITATION IN 2008, 2009 & 2010
2008
The proposed area to be planted in 2008 was approximately 1,211.0 ha, involving the rehabilitation area within the protection, conservation and production zones. In the aspect of implementation, it involved several funding contributors, such as Yayasan Sabah, WWF (Malaysia), Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd, HSBC, United States of America Government and the LEAP Foundation. Most of these compartments are located at Northern Ulu Segama Forest Reserve and VJR Merisuli. The actual achievement for forest restoration in 2008 was 683.00 ha or 56% of the original target area (1,211.0 ha). There are several reasons why the target could not be achieved in 2008 due to lack of manpower, quality of planting, bad road network system and funding constraints.

2010
The target area for forest restoration was about 1,430 ha. However, merely 724 ha were fully planted. Some of the impeding factors were: prolonged drought in the first quarter of 2010, shortage of planting materials and lower productivity of appointed contractors. The planting achievement is shown in table as follows:
