The RDC is one of the most popular environmental education centres in Sabah, Malaysia. In 2007 alone, 3,484 students from both local and foreign schools have participated in our EE programs!
Our EE programs for school visits are customised to suit student groups of all ages--from pre-schoolers to undergraduates! If you visit the RDC on a weekend, you'll most probably see us conducting a program with a group of students.

If you are a teacher and is interested in organising a school visit to the RDC, please contact us! We are always willing to help.
EERace, a teacher-training course
Besides programs for students, we also conduct teacher-training courses in environmental education for in-service teachers. Since 1998, we have trained about 670 teachers in EE! We work very closely with the State Education Department.
Our new course, called the EERace, features 80 % outdoor activities, participant-centred learning, group effort and more than 18 interesting environment-related assignments. Interestingly, when registering for an EERace, all participants do not have any idea of what they are about to learn or where they are going!
The EERace format is gaining popularity as an interesting way to educate teachers (and possibly other working adults as well) in EE. We really hope that the format will be adopted by other government agencies as a way to educate and train their target groups in EE!
Charges for EE programs:
Our EE programs are on a 'first come, first served' basis. Weekends are the most popular times for school visits so book early!
Our EERace is conducted twice a year; the first is for secondary school teachers and the second is for primary school teachers. This is an 'exclusive' course, that is, one joins by invitation ONLY!!
